Help · Memory
Memory runs below its rated speed
You can fix this
Your memory is running slower than the speed it is rated for.
Why this happens
Memory starts at a standard, safe speed. Reaching its rated speed usually needs a memory profile switched on in the BIOS: XMP on Intel boards, EXPO or DOCP on AMD boards. Windows tells Aikonic the speed the memory runs at, not whether a profile is on. Many laptops and prebuilt PCs do not offer the setting, and there the lower speed is how the system is built.
What to do
- Restart into the BIOS setup, usually by pressing Delete or F2 as the PC starts.
- Find the memory profile setting (XMP, EXPO or DOCP) and enable it.
- Save, restart, and run Memory spec in Tools again.
