A drive reports wear or errors

You can fix this

At least one drive's own health data reports wear, reallocated sectors or data integrity errors.

Why this happens

This is the drive describing its own condition, not a fault in Aikonic. Reallocated sectors and integrity errors mean the drive has had to work around damaged areas; wear is how much of its rated write life an SSD has used. These figures only go up, so they are the time to make sure your data is backed up.

What to do

  1. Back up anything on that drive you do not want to lose.
  2. Open Tools, Storage health (SMART) to see which drive and which values.
  3. If the drive is under warranty, its maker's own tool can confirm the reading for a claim.
