Help · Graphics card
GPU readings show as unavailable
You can fix this
The graphics card gave Aikonic neither a usage figure nor a temperature.
Why this happens
Aikonic reads the GPU through Windows and through the NVIDIA and AMD driver interfaces. When none of them answers, the usual cause is the graphics driver: not installed, replaced by Windows' basic display driver, or installed in parts from different versions. On AMD cards, a driver installed by Windows Update can leave an older part of the AMD package in place, and the card cannot be read through a mismatched pair.
What to do
- Open Device Manager and expand Display adapters. If it shows Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, the graphics driver is missing.
- Install the current driver from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel, or from your laptop's maker.
- On an AMD card, if readings are still missing after that, run the AMD Software installer again and choose its factory reset option.
- Restart the computer and check again.
If that does not help
If readings are still missing after a clean driver install, email [email protected] with the hardware report attached.
