The machine check's GPU phase has no readings

The GPU load never started, so the check recorded its GPU phase with no readings.

Why this happens

For the GPU phase, the app runs a graphics load in its own window and tells the service when it has begun. If that word does not arrive within 30 seconds, the service closes the phase empty and moves on. It happens when the graphics load cannot run on this machine, or when the Aikonic window was minimised or hidden during the check.

What to do

  1. Keep the Aikonic window open and in front for the whole check, then run it again.
  2. If the GPU phase is empty again, run the GPU tests in Tools; if they cannot run either, their own message says why.
