Help · Crashes, hardware errors and sleep

Something is keeping the machine awake

Expected, nothing to fix

A program or device has asked Windows not to sleep.

Why this happens

Programs ask Windows to stay awake while they play media, download, present or run a long task, and some leave the request in place after they finish. Tools, Sleep & wake blockers lists each request and what made it.

What to do

  1. If you did not expect a request, close that program or change its setting, and check again.
